Cveta

My mother in law Cveta was born in small village of East Europe.
There was no electricity, no gas, no paved road until about 1970.

She moved to Sydney, Australia
when she was 24 years old with her husband.
This is the picture they took around that time.

I love this expression of her
because I can't read any emotion from her face.

I tried to draw this mysterious expression of hers in many ways.

Teety-Woo

My lovely dog Teety-Woo, she loves sleeping inside Chris's arm.
She is so small, nervous and often frightened.
I got the name for her from the story of "Moomin" that written by Tove Jansson.
"Snuffkin meets a tiny "creep" so small he doesn't have a name.
When Snuffkin names the creep "Teety-woo," the little creature is so overjoyed
that he takes himself much more seriously. "
Good night my little Teety-Woo.

Bye Bye Level Seventeen

We're moving to new apartment tomorrow.
We lived in this apartment for two years.
But we have outgrown this apartment. So it's time to move.
We loved this landscape so much.
We will miss this view of Tokyo, it is like a shining theme park.

A Harmonious Couple

I carved out this two harmonious roses on a woodcut of boxwood.
And print on the paper made from "Gampi" with black oil ink.
"Gampi"is very very thin and catches the ink very well,
it is delicate and beautiful paper.

Cut around the form and stick on the thick paper of BFK Rives.

Drop Bracelet

I made "Drop Bracelet" for Ai and myself. Ai loves drop motif.
I found this lace in a small lace shop
in Bakurocho(fabric wholesaler street in tokyo).
I embroided around the shape of drops.
This one also can be a necklace.
